AS-IP Tech, Inc. First Iridium window antennas on a Wizz A321 | information

NEW YORK, March 11, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – AS-IP Tech, Inc. (USOTC: IPTK) today announced the installation of the first fflya Bluetooth connectivity kit on board a Wizz Air UK Airbus A321.

President of AS-IP Ron Chapman said: “A key component of the installation is our revolutionary window antenna system. We wanted a certified system that was easy to install with minimal components. The installation was carried out by Storm Aviation Limited in collaboration with Wizz Air UK technical services.” “

The original concept of a Bluetooth passenger network connected to a window antenna via Iridium was tested by AS-IP in 2010. By 2016 we had commercialized the first installation with two window antennas in a private jet. In 2018 we started the airline version and carried out further tests with a double Iridium platform on an Airbus A340.

AS-IP chose Iridium Next which, when combined with fflya’s Bluetooth App Network and custom gateways, is the perfect formula for providing burst data such as messaging, payment and telemetry.

The next step will be ground tests in support of the airline’s operating license.
