Israel’s Elbit wins $ 338 million. Contract for Swiss Superior Military Radio System

Haifa-based defense company Elbit Systems has won a $ 338 million contract to deliver advanced communications solutions to the Swiss armed forces. The contract was awarded on Thursday by the Federal Ministry for Defense, Disaster Control and Sport. It offers a tactical SDR (Mobile Defined Radio) network solution for the digitization program of the Swiss Telecommunications Forces. The six-year contract was awarded after more than three years of comprehensive technical and field assessment by the Federal Office for Defense Procurement and Switzerland’s armed forces. The digital cellular network solution to be made available is based on SDR’s E-LynXTM family with open architecture and enables fast, reliable and secure communication between the Swiss armed forces, Elbit said in a press release. According to Haim Delmar, General Manager of Elbit Systems C4I and Cyber: “Switzerland is a strategic market for us and we will continue our efforts to support the Swiss armed forces and expand our cooperation with Swiss industry. This award underlines the increasing recognition of the mobile SDR solution E-LynX as the preferred trailblazer for advanced military mobile networking and digitization by the European armed forces. “
