SANTA ROSA, Calif. & STUTTGART, Germany – (BUSINESS WIRE) – $ KEYS # 5G – Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading technology company providing advanced design and validation solutions to accelerate innovation to create connections and to secure DEKRA, an international expert organization, announced that DEKRA has recognized Keysight’s C-V2X test solution SA8700A as an OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratory (OATL) for the certification of C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything) devices .

Thanks to the efforts between the two companies, Keysight was the first to achieve OQTE (OmniAir Qualified Test Equipment) status. DEKRA supported Keysight with validation knowledge to verify that the test equipment met the OmniAir specifications, and Keysight provided DEKRA with the test solutions required to start the C-V2X program.

A growing investment in C-V2X technology leads to widespread market acceptance of applications that increase road safety and efficiency in the transport of people and goods. DEKRA relies on Keysight’s OQTE status to perform comprehensive physical and logged C-V2X certification of chipsets, assemblies and devices for use on-board vehicles and as part of the road infrastructure.

“Keysight is pleased to help DEKRA create an industry-leading laboratory-based environment for comprehensive C-V2X device certification across access, network and message levels,” said Thomas Goetzl, Vice President and General Manager, Automotive and Energy Solutions Business Keysight unit. “Keysight’s portfolio of automotive solutions for testing wireless connectivity, interoperability, electromagnetic compatibility, cybersecurity and functional safety shows our shared passion for driving intelligent transportation solutions.”

In 2018 in Malaga, Spain, DEKRA established the world’s first OATL for physical layer (PHY) validation and protocol compliance with Keysight’s E2953A V2X test solution, which meets the OmniAir Consortium’s test specifications for dedicated DSRC (Short Range Communications ) supported. Keysight’s C-V2X test solution SA8700A, which received OQTE status for the first time in April 2021, now gives DEKRA access to a wide range of C-V2X test cases defined by the OmniAir consortium. In this way, on-board (OBU) and roadside (RSU) providers can quickly certify constructions equipped with C-V2X technology.

“We are excited to partner with Keysight to provide testing and certification services that meet the regional and global needs of the automotive markets and work towards the implementation of C-V2X. Manufacturers and suppliers interested in OmniAir certification can now rely on DEKRA to certify their V2X products for both C-V2X and DSRC technology, ”said Fernando E. Hardasmal, Head of the Product Department for Service tests and Executive Vice President at DEKRA.

“Adding C-V2X technology to OmniAir’s connected vehicle certification program is an exciting step forward,” said Jason Conley, executive director of the OmniAir consortium. “DEKRA is a proven leader in providing tests for connected vehicles. We are pleased that they were the first to pass the comprehensive audit to become an OATL offering C-V2X certification testing.”

Keysight’s interoperability, performance and compliance solutions, which include C-V2X, Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), support a growing trend in connected car adoption driven by urbanization and the need for greater safety becomes roads. According to Allied Market Research, the global V2X automotive market is projected to reach over $ 11 billion in 2027.

The collaboration between Keysight and DEKRA on vehicle connectivity solutions was initiated in 2018. In addition to more than 130 companies, Keysight and DEKRA are members of the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), a cross-industry consortium that helps define V2X communication based on 5G New Radio (NR). 5G improves connection reliability, reduces latency and increases network security.
