Man dies after falling from aerial
A 60-year-old man from Chatham-Kent died Thursday after falling from a television antenna in the second fatal fall this week at a workplace, police said.
Rescue workers responded to the work accident on Indian Creek Road West in Chatham around 1:30 p.m.
The man was taken by ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, where he died, Chatham-Kent police said.
The Ministry of Labor has been contacted and has taken over the investigation.
According to a ministry spokesman on Friday, an inspector was at the scene, the investigation is ongoing.
The spokesman also confirmed that the worker who removed an antenna from the tower at the time was the sole owner of his business.
The Department is also investigating the death of a 44-year-old Chatham man who fell from an elevated platform on Center Street Monday afternoon.
