Pune Metro is alleged to have DAMM TETRA-based radio system
PUNE: Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) has selected the DAMM TETRA-based radio communication system for the Pune Metro Rail project. The system consists of a combination of high-performance DAMM interior systems, Consort Digital Train Radio Systems and Sepura TETRA handheld and mobile radios.
The high-performance DAMM interior system ensures adequate coverage of the entire railroad above and below ground, while the distributed architecture, open API and modular configuration provide a tailor-made solution that fully meets the customer’s requirements.
Arpit Kumar Srivastava, Head (Direct Sales) at Consort Digital, explains: “The key to the success of such projects is the distributed architecture in the DAMM TetraFlex® system, with which we can implement a step-by-step commissioning of the radio system, even if the control centers are not complete ready and equipped. “
According to Carsten Laursen, regional director of DAMM, “winning this project again testifies to the strength of our DAMM system partner program and what can be achieved through close cooperation”.
This system establishes the radio link to Line 1 (Purple Line) and Line 2 (Aqua Line) of the Pune Metro, which is currently under construction, which has a length of 33 km as well as 34 cabins, 29 stations and two depots.
Both lines are expected to be operational by the end of this year, with an expected daily passenger count of 6 lakhs commuters.
