Purple Dot Award for antenna-integrated radio
The Red Dot is an award for high design quality and the international jury awards this coveted seal of quality to products with outstanding design. With a densely packed radio power and state-of-the-art technology, the Ericsson AIR 4435 is compressed in weight and volume, but supports higher bandwidths for a faster connection.
AIR 4435 was designed with a concise shape and reduces the visual space requirement in sensitive urban installations at street level. Its attractive exterior is complemented by the advanced technology inside. The radio product is easy to transport and install (horizontally and vertically) and is powered by Ericsson 5G technology, which enables communication service providers to use space, energy and spectrum efficiently in their commercial 5G rollouts. Ease of use and ergonomics also ensure that installers can handle this product in harsh environments.
The common voltage / AC connection enables simple provision without additional infrastructure. This helps customers meet the growing need for street-level installations in urban environments and build 5G precisely.
Per Narvinger, Head of Product Area Networks at Ericsson, says: “We are constantly raising the bar for innovation and product design by developing radios of world-class quality and performance. At 7 liters, 7 kilograms and an output power of 4 x 20 W, AIR 4435 offers a unique, non-intrusive form factor that gives service providers the capacity they need for accelerated 5G mid-band deployments. The renewed win of the Red Dot Award shows our strong customer orientation, user orientation and our overarching design thinking. “
AIR 4435 is the latest product from Ericsson Radio System to receive the Red Dot Design Award. In 2020, the company won for its products Ericsson Radio Dot 4475 and Ericsson AIR 3239. In 2019, Ericsson received four Red Dot Design Awards for its portfolio and previously won five Red Dot Awards for hardware products in 2017 and two Red Dot Awards in the year 2016.
The Red Dot Product Design Awards are one of the largest design competitions in the world, in which the best products that are manufactured each year are judged. The evaluation criteria include the degree of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics, durability, symbolic and emotional content, product peripherals, self-explanatory quality and ecological compatibility.
