Raytheon gives excessive knowledge price antenna techniques for 23 US Navy submarines
According to a press release released Jan. 11, 2021, Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a Raytheon Technologies company, has received a US Navy order worth $ 90,000,000 for 23 high data rate submarine antenna systems. Work on the new antennas is expected to be completed in January 2024.

The SubHDR system is used to provide high capacity communication for submarines. The system significantly improves the serviceability of a submarine and the quality of life of seafarers by allowing them to communicate at high data rates with the world outside the submarine without compromising the secrecy of the submarine.
“Securely connecting people is critical to the success of any operation,” said Denis Donohue, vice president of communications and airspace modernization systems at Raytheon Intelligence & Space. “The SubHDR system provides secure submarine connectivity that helps deliver business-critical information to the right people at the right time.”
SubHDR connects submarines to the Global Broadcast Service, the Milstar Satellite Constellation and the Defense Satellite Communication System through a unique mast antenna that connects them to the world above the sea.
The SubHDR system offers submarines multiband SATCOM functions with high data rates. SubHDR operates through military satellites and enables underwater forces to participate fully in coordinated operations of the Fleet Combat Group and the joint task force network. The mast-mounted SATCOM system transmits secure broadband multimedia, secure and non-secure internet access, voice and data traffic, images and video conferences.
