Yoo Jae Suk is leaving FNC Entertainment.

The agency issued the following official statement on July 6:

Hello. This is FNC entertainment.

This is an announcement that our exclusive contract with Yoo Jae Suk, a comedian who was part of our agency, will expire on July 15th.

After talking to Yoo Jae Suk, who expressed his desire to take on a new challenge, we will end our leadership roles [for Yoo Jae Suk] and cheer each other’s future.

We are grateful to Yoo Jae Suk who has been running active promotions as a celebrity for FNC Entertainment over the long six years.

Yoo Jae Suk is in talks with a new agency.

Following earlier reports that the star is leaving FNC Entertainment, industry officials reported that Yoo Jae Suk will sign with Antenna.

A source from Antenna stated in response, “It is true that we recently had a meeting with Yoo Jae Suk regarding an exclusive contract, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

Antenna is a company that was founded by musician Yoo Hee Yeol and is currently home to artists such as Jung Seung Hwan, Sam Kim, Jukjae, Kwon Jin Ah, Lee Jin Ah, Jung Jae Hyung and more. Kakao Entertainment’s M Company recently acquired a portion of the shares in Antenna, starting a partnership between the companies.

Yoo Jae Suk may part ways with his current agency, FNC Entertainment.

On July 6, JTBC reported that Yoo Jae Suk’s exclusive contract with FNC Entertainment ended on July 15, 2021.

Yoo Jae Suk signed with FNC Entertainment on July 16, 2015 and extended his contract three years later in July 2018. Now that another three years have passed, his contract will soon expire and a possible extension is under discussion. According to JTBC, both Yoo Jae Suk and FNC Entertainment have agreed not to renew the contract.

An entertainment industry source said, “A celebrity can start reaching out [to other agencies] if their contract has three months left. As far as I know, there is already an agency that sent Yoo Jae Suk an offer. “

In response to the report, an FNC Entertainment source told OSEN in a statement: “Yoo Jae Suk is under FNC Entertainment and it is difficult for us to give you the details of his contract. We ask for your understanding regarding this matter.”

Meanwhile, Yoo Jae Suk is currently moderating the variety shows “How Do You Play?” “Running Man”, “You Quiz on the Block” and “The Sixth Sense 2”.
