[Report] Future iPhone fashions with antennas and Contact ID within the show
A recent report from Apple says that future iPhones will have antennas and Touch ID in the display. When that happens, it will definitely be a huge leap in terms of connectivity and security for the iPhones. Apple would like to add the antenna to improve the device’s WiFi and cellular connectivity. So far Apple has not said anything about the placement of the antenna in the display. But we can expect thinner bezels and notches for them.
In addition to the antenna, there will be a fingerprint scanner in the display. If Apple uses such technology to scan fingerprints in the display, the display quality needs to be improved. Therefore, we can expect a different and improved display in the future iPhone models from Apple. The iPhones of the future may have even larger screens that the Touch ID fingerprint scanner will fit on. Apart from that, Apple has also filed patents covering the use of these layers to accommodate an RF antenna in the display. Apple described all of these things in its recently published patent entitled “Display Integratable Hybrid Transparent Antenna”.
The patent application states:
“Today’s wireless systems (e.g. smartwatches or other devices with a predominant display function) aim for a borderless display with a smaller faceplate or a display solution without a frame. In particular for wearable devices such as smartwatches, smart glasses or smart health-related monitoring devices, the display is small and the number of radios (e.g. Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G / 4G / LTE, FM and etc.) that need to be supported, and the associated antennas are increasing. “
