Tallymatics introduces a wise GNSS antenna for 5G timing

The new intelligent GNSS antenna TW5382 from Tallymatics Inc. has been developed for high-precision 5G timing. Tallymatics focuses on GNSS timing antennas. It is a division of the Calian Group of Companies, along with Tallysman Inc.

The TW5382 is a multiband 5G smart GNSS antenna / receiver with multiple constellations that provides 5 ns (1 sigma, clear sky view) timing accuracy. It consists of two components: a Tallysman GNSS Accutenna technology antenna and a professional GNSS timing receiver module.

Accutenna supports the full bandwidth of the TW5382 receiver, strong multipath reduction and depth filtering in a compact IP69K housing. These features enable the antenna to deliver a strong, clean, right-justified, circularly polarized, in-band signal to the receiver.

The professional multi-constellation and multi-signal timing receiver of the TW5382 tracks the signals GPS / QZSS (L1 / L2), GLONASS (G1 / G2), Galileo (E1 / E5b) and BeiDou (B1 / B2). The dual frequency GNSS enables the receiver to minimize the delay in the ionosphere and improve multipath mitigation.

Other important features of the GNSS receiver are the support of anti-jamming and anti-spoofing, the monitoring of the autonomous integrity of the timing receiver (T-RAIM) and GNSS extension systems: WAAS (USA), EGNOS (Europe), MSAS ( Japan), and GAGAN (India), all of which provide orbit and clock corrections and health and integrity information.

By tracking multiple constellations, the GNSS receiver can report the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) estimated by each constellation. The receiver can be configured to output either the GPS, GLONASS, Galileo or BeiDou implementation of UTC. The timing pulse can also be configured to suit the needs of the user.

The TW5382 supports an RS-485 communication interface via which the receiver can be configured and monitored.

Finally, the combination of the GNSS antenna and the receiver in a single package ensures that each intelligent antenna produces exactly the same time signal, as every delay in the intelligent antenna cable is practically identical. Only the length of the user’s timing pulse cable (intelligent antenna to user device) needs to be taken into account, which simplifies the installation of the operator.
