The depth of the electromagnetic waves in Cusco antennas is under the permissible restrict

The field strength of the electromagnetic waves emitted by radio, mobile phone and internet antennas in Cusco is below the internationally established maximum limit. This is evidenced by the latest measurement carried out in different parts of the region over the past weekend.

Engineers of the Radio-Electric Spectrum Control Station Cusco of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) carried out measurements at Cerro Picchu in the Lucre district, in Quispicanchi and on the Plaza de Armas in Cusco.

The results come to the conclusion that the non-ionizing radiation of the main telecommunications services does not exceed 1% of the maximum reference values set for international environmental quality standards. The default setting will be taken into account if it exceeds 100%.

“Citizens need to be sure that electromagnetic waves do not have a negative impact. The MTC is taking constant measurements and we have verified that all signals are within acceptable standards. This gives confidence to install more antennas to narrow the digital divide “said Ángel Paz, director general for communications inspections and sanctions.

Telecommunication antennas benefit the population and more need to be installed across the country. In Cusco there is a deficit of more than 330 base stations (structure in which antennas are placed) so that more families can be connected.
