DR.KAT HICKEY, GOONHILLY EARTH STATION SAYS:
“At the moment, all space communication is largely done through the European Space Agency and NASA’s space networks. However, as more and more missions go online and go into space, space agencies have to focus their networks more and more on some of these newer missions and so there are many of these legacy missions still alive. We still want to be able to exchange signals and experience what they are learning, for example on Mars, and we are going to be able to do this through our antenna. But we can also look at private companies that want to go to the Moon or Mars and make it easier for them to communicate when the space agencies on their networks may not be able to do so. “

KAT HICKEY: At the moment, all space communication is mainly carried out via the European Space Agency and NASA’s space networks. But as more missions go online and go into space, space agencies need to focus their networks more and more on some of these newer missions.
So there are still many legacy missions that we still want to exchange signals with and learn what they are learning. For example on Mars, and we can do that through our antenna. But we can also look at private companies that want to go to the moon or Mars and make it easier for them to communicate when the space agencies on their networks may not be able to do so.
